The red dot design award

Since 1955, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany, distinguishes internationally outstanding product design with its famous red dot. Over more than 50 years, the red dot award has become one of the – if not THE – world’s most coveted quality seals for design. In 2011  this was reflected by a total of 4 433  products submitted for the competition by more than 1 700 companies from 60 countries and in 2012 about  4 515 product submited frombb  1 800 companies from 58 countries.
